Primary Teaching Assistant

Contract: App
Salary: Apprentice Pay Scale depending on age

The Governors are seeking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic and motivated Apprentice Teaching Assistant to join our team at Burscough Village Primary School.

This is an exciting time to join BVPS and a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to begin or develop their career in education. You will work alongside our experienced teaching and support team, gaining valuable hands-on experience whilst working towards a recognised Teaching Assistant qualification.

At Burscough Village Primary School, we pride ourselves on being a nurturing school and employer. We are looking for someone who shares our nurturing philosophy and is passionate about providing high-quality experiences which support the learning, development and wellbeing of the whole child.

Our new apprentice will help us to:

  • create a safe, happy, stimulating and nurturing learning environment;
  • build warm and positive relationships with our children;
  • support children’s learning, development and wellbeing;
  • support teachers with engaging classroom learning experiences;
  • provide individual and small-group support where appropriate;
  • encourage children to develop their independence and confidence;
  • work positively as part of the class and wider school team; and
  • bring enthusiasm, creativity and a positive ‘can-do’ attitude to the role.

We are looking for someone who can relate well to children, work effectively as part of a team and demonstrate good communication skills. Previous experience of working with or caring for children, including voluntary or work experience, would be desirable.

This role could be a fantastic first step into a career in education, or the next step for someone who has already started their journey working with children and is ready to develop further.

Most importantly, we are looking for the right person with the right attitude. Someone who is kind, patient, enthusiastic, willing to learn and excited about becoming part of our school team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join BVPS, develop alongside our team and help us ensure that every child has the support, encouragement and opportunities they need to thrive.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Safer recruitment practices and appropriate pre-employment checks will be undertaken before any appointment is confirmed. The post is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure.

Burscough Village Primary School is committed to promoting equality, diversity and an inclusive culture across all its operations.
