Early Years Apprentice - The Village Nursery – Burscough Village Primary School
Where little feet take big steps

The Governors are seeking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic and motivated Early Years Apprentice to join our team at The Village Nursery, our new purpose-built nursery provision at Burscough Village Primary School.

This is an exciting time to join BVPS and a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to begin or develop their career in Early Years. You will work alongside our experienced Early Years team, gaining valuable hands-on experience whilst working towards a recognised Early Years qualification.

We welcome applications from candidates at different stages of their Early Years journey.

  • Start a Level 2 Early Years apprenticeship.
  • Progress to Level 3 if you have already achieved a relevant Level 2 qualification.

At Burscough Village Primary School, we pride ourselves on being a nurturing school and employer. We are looking for someone who shares our nurturing philosophy and is passionate about providing high-quality experiences which support the development of the whole child. Our previous apprenticeship programme has combined supported study with practical experience alongside our Early Years team.

Our new apprentice will help us to:

  • create a safe, happy, stimulating and nurturing environment;
  • build warm and positive relationships with our youngest children;
  • support children’s learning, play and development;
  • provide engaging indoor and outdoor learning experiences;
  • encourage children to develop their independence and confidence;
  • work positively as part of the nursery and wider school team; and
  • bring enthusiasm, creativity and a positive ‘can-do’ attitude to the role.

We are looking for someone who can relate well to children, work effectively as part of a team and demonstrate good communication skills. Previous experience of working with or caring for children, including voluntary or work experience, would be desirable.

This role could be a fantastic first step into a career in Early Years or education, or the next step for someone who has already started their Early Years journey and is ready to develop further.

Most importantly, we are looking for the right person with the right attitude. Someone who is kind, patient, enthusiastic, willing to learn and excited about becoming part of our growing nursery provision.

This is a unique opportunity to join The Village Nursery at the beginning of an exciting new chapter, develop alongside our team and help us ensure that every little foot can take big steps.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Safer recruitment practices and appropriate pre-employment checks will be undertaken before any appointment is confirmed. The post is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure.

Burscough Village Primary School is committed to promoting equality, diversity and an inclusive culture across all its operations
