Welcome to Burscough Village Primary School Nursery! We provide an engaging, child-centred curriculum where all children can succeed and achieve their potential. As the majority of our planning is based on children’s interests, our environment is always changing with new enhancements that enable children to further develop their learning and skills. Both our indoor and outdoor environments are exciting places to learn.
Mrs Beevers is the school’s Early Years Leader and Inclusion Leader (SENCO) who oversees the Foundation Stage, Nursery and Reception, and supports children and their families, with special educational needs. Miss Morgan is the Nursery Class teacher. Mrs Rawsthorne and Miss Ashcroft are the Nursery Teaching Assistants.

Step Into Quality
In July 2022, we successfully renewed our Lancashire Step into Quality award. The Lancashire Quality Award is underpinned by the principles of the Early Years Foundation Stage and the National Quality Improvement Principles. The accreditation involved whole team reflection on provision and practice, across eight ‘steps’, which have had a positive impact on the setting and also staff development.
Eight Steps:
- Indoor and outdoor learning environments
- Routines
- Interactions
- The keyperson approach
- Partnership with parents
- Leadership and management
- Learning and development
- Transitions
